Today I handed in a PR to #diaspora that allows a #podmin to take contact to its users.

On my pod I found it very useful to send a short message out to my user if something is going on or to clarify any report or whatever. To the podmins out there: make a review to this, if you like / dislike this feature to have on your pod.

Vielleicht sollte man mal einen #podmin fragen...

@Frank Dapor #podminFord Mondeo, 2005. Günstig, quasi aus 2. Hand, kein Rost, bestens gepflegt.

@all: 800 sollten für uns doch kein Problem sein :)

Guten Morgen ...

Salut, Hello...

  • I am writing from my "emergency profile" (diaspora.psyco).
Diasp.org is down since yesterday evening, impossible to connect. Same for poduptime... Does anyone know anything about this? An update in progress, a server crash ? Many thanks to you, and have a nice day.

it's not "censorship", it's a "go somewhere else, spread your grits!", if you counterfactually talk about "censorship", you're already walking into their false narrative

"diaspora works totally differently, we are soooo much better then this stupid FB-users 0o"

or should I take your comment on suzie as the confessed irony of an unsympathetic man coming out of the closet? :)

Diaspora Podmins: Please be help prevent and rapidly address abusive network activity

@MondiAspora Podmin and other podmins: Please be aware that "Ivan Zlax" is a serial sockpuppet spaming harrasser now creating spoof identities on open pods to specifically harrass those reporting on their activities.

Accounts typically include a gorilla profile avatar and the name "ivan zlax" or "zlax ivan", increasingly with non-ASCII characters (e.g., Cyrillic "а") to avoid simple text search.

A recent extensive listing:
https://joindiaspora.com/posts/82638e60380e013926147085c2fdcc0b

Please consider closing registrations or manually approving them.

Please remove accounts and all associated content (typically principally comments), some of which is now reported to contain pornography and/or CP.

Few pods prominently name or report their pod admins. Doing so, or providing unambiguous Diaspora and email reporting addresses is strongly encouraged as a global practice. Yes, I'm aware these are spambait.

Sadly, it only takes one asshat to ruin things for many.

Thank you.

Lack of a 'flag account" or “alert podmin” capability, or even knowing who podmins are … is another general weakness.

I have decided to update the list of those i consider to be accomplices to Ilya's murder. Perhaps i will update the list again later. Each time i will add those who comment and repost this propagandist account. Hopefully this will encourage less frequent promotion of this propaganda account from those involved.

You’re the ones who ordered Ilya’s murder. After the fact. For the success of your irresponsible democrazy propaganda, he was murdered.
@@Om* - it's a well-paid propaganda account. Who distributes hilarious pictures on a regular basis to ease the psychological blockage of perception of the propaganda that, in between, he throws in. In doing so, this account throws in a neoliberal and democratic propaganda. After i posted this picture:
Image/Photo
He has become active in hiding his handlers and his intentions.

I will also remind that this account tried to hide and cover up evidences of Ilya’s murder: https://ussr.win/link/6200391
@Ilya Zhitomirskiy was born 30 years ago in USSR.
Image/Photo
Inna Zhitomirskaya, mother of Ilya:
I strongly believe that if Ilya did not start this [Diaspora]project and stayed in school, he would be well and alive today.
For your irresponsible neocolonial democrazy propaganda, Ilya was killed. He was killed so that you could successfully and irresponsibly spread neocolonial propaganda and censor critical comments of slavs from your raw resource colonies.

#zlax is such a huge #PITA. Third version of the cleaner script. I hope it won't do innocent victims.I guess it will have to run by cron regularly until hell freezes and Zlax tires.

If you are a #podmin running a #diaspora pod on PostgreSQL, you should look into upgrading to version 13. These are runserver response times for Geraspora, the yellow line represents the average response times, the green line represents the the 99.9 percentile. The blue marker is the point I upgraded from pg12 to pg13. There was no other change to the environment, and since we've had a weekend just now, the amount of requests per second and the server load even went up slightly.

As you'll notice, the peaks went down significantly, but even the average response time went down by a considerable amount. Parallel autovacuuming and the performance improvements around b-tree indexes and aggregate/grouping queries is clearly help stream queries a lot. Not enough to significantly change the responsiveness for users, but still noteworthy.

(Ignore that one peak in the night of 2020-12-11 to 2020-12-12, that was a unlucky coincidence with autovac running while the server was running its "aw crap an entirely new database"-backup, so that always causes some locking issues.)

#jitsi #videocall #test #feedback #opensource #zoom #nozoom

@Frank Dapor #podmin - I saw reports in the Guardian article from two pilots, one at 6000 the other at about half that.
