Once upon a time...
My first published research was a look at the NY Times
vs. the_ NY Post_ comparing how they covered a near-disaster, a crack discovered in the Harrisburg / "Three Mile Island" nuclear plant. The Times cited government team response and status, while the Post had a large picture of a goat which I'll never forget, "Mrs. Louse H-- comforts sick goat". Which provided facts? Aroused fears?
So fast forward to now. The New York Times
has a banner headline about impeachment, and the historic proceedings.
Whereas the NY Post
featured a critique of Pelosi's wardrobe, calling her "swamp mistress".
Some things change. Apparently the Fox/Murdoch/Post school of "news" headlines and "fact" presentation has not, much.Who knew?
Yet I can't really say I'm surprised. Sad that the choice now is to mock conscientious leaders or focus on serious issues.
