Good point @[email protected]
This is some info my pod-admin sent me that might help:
... make sure you are following a bunch appropriate #hashtags and sharing with people or else you won't find any interesting content: You like #music or maybe you are interested in #streetart ?

Also make sure you engage, leave comments and use proper hashtags in your own posts, otherwise we wouldn't be able to find your profile and/or content either.

Everything here is done manually by it's users. It's up to the community to distribute content, support each other and invite new people.

There is no central system that determines and/or dictates what people see.

You can find out more at the FAQ for users [link].
Hope that is of #help

Let me reintroduce my self, now that I understand how the hash tags work in Pluspora.
I am a scientist/poet who has lately got into exploring
profound thought, not that my thoughts are profound
yet,
I like to interact with folks of like and unlike
mind. I am not sure how to attach a picture to a comment.
Is there an easy way to edit what one writes, for instance
to correct a small error, without deleting the entire post and reposting? How do I find folks with similar
interests? Are there categories called Zen or biochemistry
or cell biology, or early buddhism?
I do not quite understand how aspects work. How does
one add a friend?

Hello and a big welcome

to everyone new to diaspora\*

We're so pleased that you've decided to give diaspora\* a try. It's fantastic that you've joined us!

We hope that you quickly find your way here, and enjoy getting connected with people and content.

Here's a few tips for getting started:
  • There are some step-by-step tutorials on our project website covering the basics of how diaspora* works, and how to get connected with people. There's a link to these in the side-bar, should you ever want to read them in future, and there's also an in-app Help section you can access through your user menu (at the right-hand end of the header bar).
  • You can search for people by name or by diaspora* ID (which looks like an email address), if you know it, from the search field in the header bar. You can invite people to join you in diaspora* by sending them a link to our project website, from where they can choose their own pod to register with. Your friends don't need to be on the same pod as you in order to connect and communicate with you.
  • One good way to start getting connected with people is to start following some #tags of subjects that interest you (maybe #music, #photography, #linux, or #activism ... whatever interests you) so that you will see content on those topics in your stream. You can then start following people whose posts you find interesting, by placing them into one of your aspects.
  • If you have any questions, post something with the #question or #help tag, and people will try to help you. Make sure to make your post public so anyone who can help is able to see it!
diaspora\* has some very simple community guidelines, which we hope everyone will feel able to follow so that all members can have the best possible experience here.

We're trying to improve diaspora* all the time, fixing bugs, honing performance and adding new features. But how fast we can do this is limited by the time developers have. To improve diaspora* faster, we need more developers! If you've just signed up and can code, or know someone who can and who might be interested in joining our team, get in touch!

"Pause" schon. Aber sonst nix.
Die Anleitung hilft mir auch nicht.
Die ist hier (siehe Link.)
Falls jemand eine Idee hat?
Würde mich sehr freuen.
Ggf. Dank im voraus!

Diaspora login problem

There's a problem with the way Diaspora* handles logins, IMO. I don't know if you recognise the screen capture below, but if you log in to Diaspora* on an Android device, there's a chance you'll see it sooner or later. The scenario is this: I log into D* and do all of my usual social networking stuff. I leave the browser tab open, since just about every other site or network I use either keeps me logged in or automatically logs me in next time I visit the site. But not Diaspora!

If I forget to close the tab and reopen it, I see a page that looks exactly the way it did the previous time - as if I'm logged in. So I spend considerable time composing a post and send it, only to be faced with that screen of pink gobbledygeek below. I wasn't actually logged in.

OK, you say, so remember to close the tab and open a new one next time. Well, yes, but the problem is worse than that. Today I came back to the tab I left open just a few hours ago and I got the message, "logged in successfully"! So, of course, I took it at its word, spent some time composing a post and sent it, only to be confronted with the gobbledygeek!

This really is about as unfriendly as it can get. Wait! No, actually, receiving a subsequent email telling me that I've done something wrong - that's about as unfriendly as it can get.

Yes, of course I'm going to post about this in the right place, when I'm back home at a real keyboard. But right now I need to let off some steam.

Looking for an alternative to Blogger of ggl

!Friendica Support
Image/Photo
It has been a long time now I'm looking for an alternative to #blogger, a place that is as simple to implement and use and that would allow an easy transfer of what I already built in ggl. I use it mainly to publish pictures and posts over my ceramic and some writing work. In few words, #blogging in an aesthetical though simple environment.
For a moment I though that hubzilla would be an option. Yet all these places, including Friendica and Pluspora, seem to be made for those who now but not the lamba basic user like me. So I haven't found a help file or tutorial that would help me to start up and there I am...
Therefore, I'm posting a shout, a call, a cry for #help and #advice ! :^)
1. Is #Friendica an adequate place for blogging with aesthetical theme ?
2. Would the answer to above question be positive, will libranet.de allow me to do so ? (@[email protected])
3. If answer to question 1 is negative, what do you recommend as free blogging plateform providing similar performance to blogger ?
4. Will such plateform be compatible with Friendica and supported by the instance libranet.de ?

There's a link to these in the side-bar, should you ever want to read them in future, and there's also an in-app Help section you can access through your user menu (at the right-hand end of the header bar).

- One good way to start getting connected with people is to start following some #tags of subjects that interest you (maybe #music, #photography, #linux, or #activism ... whatever interests you) so that you will see content on those topics in your stream. You can then start following people whose posts you find interesting, by placing them into one of your aspects.
- If you have any questions, post something with the #question or #help tag, and people will try to help you.

Hello and a big welcome

to everyone new to diaspora\*

With Google+ closing today, you might have just signed up to diaspora* looking for a new home. We're so pleased that you've decided to give diaspora* a try. It's fantastic that you've joined us! We have a big existing community of former G+ users, and you could try tags such as #gplusrefugee and #googleplus to connect with people you know from G+.

#HELP

Hey Diasporians !
Merci d'avance !
