Blogger.com social media cross-posting addon

!Friendica Support

I have this old #blogger page that I would like to cross-post on and show Federated comments in the comment section.

Is that possible with the Blogger #addon? I am already stuck with the fact that the old Blogger API URL seems to not exist anymore?

Also what happens if I post via the Blogger.com interface... does Friendica pull these in, or is this a one way link? What about comments?

Alternatively: anyone had luck with using https://fed.brid.gy/ with Friendica now that #ActivityPub is available?

@Pavithran S Hubzilla has implemented #ActivityPub, so that is already possible.

I will be taking my holiday time to prep my #RPG #dnd (powered by #OSRIC) campaign for sure, but also about to take a dive into the #indieweb rabbit hole!

https://indieweb.org/Getting_Started

Wish me luck! May post questions here and maybe on #activitypub

comment on shared AP post doesn't reach original post

!Friendica Support
I've commented on a #mastodon post which was reshared (boosted) by one of my mastodon contacts - i don't follow the author of the top level post.

post: https://mastodon.social/@ennolenze/103204030241115912
local comment: https://sozialwolke.net/display/703b8751-895d-dd1d-c390-fdf730257408

My comment on the reshared item does not appear as a comment on the top level post, although it seems like it has been federated successfully.

I thought this kind of commenting on #ActivityPub posts was working properly, but actually it seems it's not?!

Does AP is secure, spam resistant, nomadic and private? No. Hence the need to use #Zot
The way to fix #ActivityPub in #Zap is through usage (like you could say "limit your car speed in town"), but it won't prevent another software to use Activitypub its way with all flaws.
But with Zot6, all this concepts are inside the protocole.

Does anybody know if there's similar plugin for federating #WordPress installation with #Mastodon?

RT @pixelfed: Hello Wordpress!

A number of people have asked how to make Wordpress blogs federate with the Fediverse (including Mastodon and Pixelfed).

You can do this by adding the ActivityPub for Wordpress plugin from here:

https://wordpress.org/plugins/activitypub/

When the plugin is installed, it allows anyone on the Fediverse to follow your Wordpress blog.

It's still in beta, the plugin's developer is @pfefferle

Made some UI updates to Lemmy, as well as added Russian and German: https://dev.lemmy.ml/ #activitypub #reddit #fediverse

BTW I could use some pointers from anyone who might have any #design suggestions.

Federated code hosting

Are you interested in #federated #code hosting? This term means a site like #GitHub, #GitLab, #Cogs or #Gitea - but instead of all servers being an individual part of the #web, they talk to each other just like servers in the #fediverse. Imagine being able to open issues, make pull requests and engage in discussion, to any other repository from your own personal code hosting server?

Approximately one year ago #Microsoft bought GitHub, kicking of something that become a group of people discussing formalizing a specification for federated code hosting platforms. This specification work ended up with the name #ForgeFed and is currently developed by the #Peers community. The end result will be a set of extensions on top of #ActivityPub that allows any code hosting platform to federate with any other code hosting platform.

ForgeFed is using the brand new #Feneas forum for discussing various spec items. Everybody is welcome to participate, though especially good would be to get people from the various code hosting platforms to give their thoughts about what they would be happy to implement.

Join the discussion here: https://talk.feneas.org/c/forgefed

The ForgeFed repository for the specification is hosted at notabug.

Do you wish the Fediverse had a Reddit-style link sharing and discussion system?

There are two in development, Prismo and Lemmy:

¿Problem Sync Friendica and ActivityPub?

#question !Friendica Support !Technical Support

Are there any known synchronization problems between #mastodon and #friendica ?

I can currently send messages to #activitypub, but I'm not receiving any from there.

I've done some tests to prove it and it just isn't working properly.

At first friendica's account appeared with a lock on mastodon's account, and then I changed that condition to friendica. Can that condition have any effect on the communication?

Thank for any answer

#FunkWhale is an open source federated music streaming and storage service.

There's a demo instance using Creative Commons tracks here:

https://demo.funkwhale.audio/library

The official "Join Funkwhale" site is here:

[en]#Diffu is a Free Software allowing authors to publish all kinds of texts or articles and to aggregate the reactions they generate on social networks, especially through #ActivityPub such as #Mastodon, #PeerTube, #Pleroma, #PixelFed, #Funkwhale, #Hubzilla, #GNUSocial ...

Diffu is a kind of free and federated alternative to #Medium or other applications that are not always easy to install.

To develop it, we launch a crowdfunding campaign

The free open events tool #Mobilizon has just passed the second goal in its crowdfunding of €35k!

This means it will be federated through ActivityPub, and give the ActivityPub Fediverse a good easy-to-use alternative to Facebook Events.

If it reaches the next goal, €50k, it will add many extra features including groups, which would be great 👍

You can donate at:
https://joinmobilizon.org/en/

You can follow them on the ActivityPub Fediverse at:
@[email protected]

The project leader is @Framasoft

#Lemmy is an open federated alternative to Reddit and is currently early in development. It's aiming to federate through ActivityPub, so it would interact with other services on the ActivityPub Fediverse:

@LemmyDev

There's also the open federated #Prismo, which is in a more advanced state of development:

@prismo

You can try Prismo at:

France's largest free software organisation @Framasoft has just launched a crowdfunding campaign for an open federated events tool, Mobilizon:

https://joinmobilizon.org/en/

Mobilizon would replace Facebook Events and similar closed services.

It would use ActivityPub, so people would be able to organise events on the ActivityPub Fediverse.

You can also follow its Mastodon account here:

Ist Reichweite wirklich die richtige Frage?
Qualität oder Quantitát?
Zensuresistenz oder Abhängigkeit von der Willfährigkeit eines Monopols?

Um genau zu sein scheint mir hat diaspora das "Armdrücken" der dezentralen Netzwerke verloren.
Mir scheint #activitypub und scheinbar #mastodon haben das rennen gemacht.
(oh sh** jetzt hab ich kommentiert ..)

In case you missed it, the lead developer of open federated Reddit-alternative Prismo has put up a new flagship instance:

https://prismo.xyz

This replaces the previous instance (prismo.news) which suffered a major database failure.

You'll have to sign up if you want to post or upvote, but you can follow users and comment on posts from elsewhere on the ActivityPub Fediverse (on Mastodon etc).

If you want to have a Medium-style text-based blog that people can follow on the ActivityPub Fediverse, you might want to try these:

Plume:
https://joinplu.me

Write Freely
https://writefreely.org
https://writefreely.org/instances

You can either join an existing instance, or set up your own.

They federate with ActivityPub-based networks such as Mastodon, Pleroma, Friendica etc. so you can follow their blogs the same way you would follow a person.
