. Heidi, after 2 months of adjusting to quarantine life, finally seems to like having me home. We've kind of come to an agreement on our schedule and she seems less upset when I am in online meetings.
Besides the cats I have had all my life except when they were forbidden by landlords, there have been whistling guinea pigs, escape-artist hamsters, fancy oranda goldfish, sex-crazed parakeets, and even a pale pink African frog in an aquarium that molted its disgustingly slimy skin about once a month and had to be under a lid to keep it from jumping out and shriveling up into hibernation to await the rainy season.
That doesn't even count my kids' non-feline pets when they were little: an anole lizard who had to be fed live crickets, a box turtle who loved lettuce and being let out into the back yard - and yes, more guinea pigs - squee squee squee!
